Counterfeit merchandise seized in Seattle

On October 20, 2009, a Seattle Vice Unit detective received a complaint about an individual who was selling counterfeit National Football League (NFL) jerseys on Craigslist.  Subsequently, an officer posed as a buyer and purchased a jersey that was later confirmed as counterfeit by an NFL representative.

A suspect was arrested on December 2, 2009.  The individual cooperated and provided information on the supplier.  A follow up investigation resulted in the undercover buys of jerseys by officers, surveillance of the suspect, and warrants to establish the suspect’s ownership of a website dedicated to selling the counterfeit jerseys.

The suspect was arrested on February 2, 2010. detectives and officers arrested the suspect in North Seattle.  A search warrant served on the suspect’s residence netted over 900 counterfeit jerseys.
